| Welcome to incidentdispatch.net!
Who Are We?
This web site was created to serve as a
comprehensive resource site for news and information about All Hazard Incident
Dispatchers, Incident Dispatch Teams, Tactical Dispatch Teams – tactical
fire, law enforcement or medical dispatchers trained, certified, and
qualified to respond into the field to support emergency management at
an incident command post.
Having a dispatcher on scene allows the
Incident Commander to concentrate on command decisions without being
tied to the umbilical cord of his/her radio. The dispatcher handles
communications in and out of the incident, relaying command decisions to
the IC, while also maintaining resource and situation status and
incident documentation. The concept of Incident Dispatcher Teams
integrates the dispatcher's unique skills of multi-tasking, attention to
detail, hearing-and-repeating information accurately, right into the
command post.
As we continue to build and enhance this
web site, we will focus on providing information on how to justify and
develop an Incident or Tactical Dispatch Team to support your local fire
or law enforcement agency, and we’ll look at agencies that maintain and
deploy IDTs and TDTs and what lessons they have learned that can benefit
other agencies.
We’ll describe what kind of training is needed to certify and qualify
field communications teams and how to integrate these dispatchers into
the field environment. We’ll share after-action reports and maintain an
archive of articles on the subject of field communications teams.
Thanks again for visiting our website. We
welcome your comments and suggestions. |
